Beach Veterinary Hospital Dog of the Month June 2020: Rex

The Rainier Animal Fund received a call from a friend of Rex’s owner. She knew Rex, her beloved Xoloitzcuintle (aka Mexican Hairless), needed some veterinary care, but she also knew that Rex’s mom just had so much on her plate and was struggling to find the right resource. We are so glad she found us.

Beach Veterinary Hospital was happy to lend a hand and quickly arranged an exam and bloodwork for sweet little Rex made possible by a grant from the Rainier Animal Fund. Because of this nonprofit and our partnership with them, Rex was able to get all his basic care covered, was brought up-to-date on his vaccines and was setup for a much-needed dental.*

Beach Veterinary Hospital Dog of the Month June 2020: RexDental care may be a challenge for many families who cannot afford even the most basic care for their pets. But, poor dental hygiene can put both their pet’s health and pocket book at risk. “Dog breath” – or a cat with a foul-smelling mouth – can be a sign of untreated dental conditions. If left untreated, you may put your pet at risk for greater problems such as periodontitis or heart disease. In Rex’s case, he needed advanced care with many extractions in order to be free of mouth pain and discomfort.

Under the care of the Beach Veterinary Hospital team, Rex did quite well with his dental and was soon reunited with his mom. Now, with a clean bill of health and a mouth free of pain, Rex is back to his old self; energetic, eating well and happy. He can now continue to be there for his mom; standing by her side ensuring she has the comfort and companionship only a beloved pet can provide.Beach Veterinary Hospital Dog of the Month June 2020: Rex

Big thank you to the Rainier Animal Fund and our medical team for working together to give Rex the care he needed to continue living his best life with the mom who loves him.
