Iconic Seattle artist Jesse Link has completed a new, original community mural on the exterior wall of Beach Veterinary Hospital in Rainier Beach. Commissioned by Beach Veterinary Hospital’s parent organization Veterinary Roots, this original piece is intended to help revitalize the busy, Rainier Avenue South corridor while contributing to the artistic heritage of the larger Rainier Valley.

“Community murals have a long tradition of bringing unique art into local neighborhoods and communities,” said Veterinary Roots CEO Dr. Debra Nicholson. “Often it is a local business that makes this investment in public art. We see the intrinsic value in this offering and have decided to give back to Rainier Beach with an artistic celebration of life and the pets we love.”

To create the vibrant colors and distinctive artists style for this project, the mural was painted using a collection of acrylic-based spray paints along with a bit of brushwork with acrylic paints for the finer details. Initial work begun on the project in early September with the project completed on September 30, 2019.Seattle Artist Jesse Link Creates Mural for Beach Veterinary Hospital

Continued Dr. Nicholson, “Our team left the creative process in the hands of artist Jesse Link. Our only direction was for Jesse to celebrate the pets in our lives, the beauty of our nearby beach community, nature and the families that call this region home. The rest was truly the vision of artist, Jesse Link.”

The Beach Veterinary Hospital mural joins Link’s collection of other unique outdoor installations which can be seen at the West Seattle Junction, in the Admiral District and Luna Park neighborhoods in West Seattle, at the City Hostel in downtown Seattle and as part of a larger collaborative work at Target in Downtown Seattle.Seattle Artist Jesse Link Creates Mural for Beach Veterinary Hospital
